Sentinel and Nokia join forces to offer real time traffic services

Sentinel Content, a provider of real-time traffic and other dynamic location based traveller information services, has been awarded a contract to supply Nokia with its Road Sense® Traffic service, a real time traffic information service for Australian commuters. The service is available today through Nokia's Ovi portal and Maps application and can provide live alerts on traffic delays, incidents, road closures and other delays to a range of Nokia GPS enabled devices.
From the press release:
" Content is geographically coded against both real world coordinates (WGS84 latitude, longitude) and specific industry standards such as Traffic Message Channel (TMC) location codes as well as the emerging TPEG standard. This ensures Sentinel can deliver relevant, location specific content to all applications and devices via a wide range of broadcast channels such as GPRS-TMC, XML-TMC, Sentinel proprietary and other formats tailored to specific customer needs. "
