Mediamobile develops the coverage of its real time traffic information service,
TISA member, Mediamobile (subsidiary of TDF) is now taking advantage of more than a hundred thousand vehicles driving on French roads regularly transmitting their positions. Floating car data is collected, analyzed and characterised in real time by Mediamobile’s technical team. This data then enriches and supplements the information flow from traditional sources. Thus, the complementary technology enables the V-Trafic service to improve the reliability of distributed data and to increase service coverage.
The road condition network covered by V-Trafic is now four times larger, thanks to the use of floating car data, going from 80 000 to 320 000 km. Now, drivers can access traffic information on numerous axes which had not been covered. Several French agglomerations are thus better covered: Bordeaux, Nantes, Lille, Rennes, Caen, Reims, Montpellier, Avignon, Nancy, Nice, Pau, Niort, Poitiers, Tours, and Mulhouse…
